Where am I off to this week?

My tenth stop on my 2017 European Tour as a digital nomad continued in Köln, Germany, at CoWork-Lab.

    Where is it?

So why did I choose CoWork-Lab?

This was one of the few spaces where I was sold by the website alone. I just liked the cleanness of their site and imagery. The site didn’t even show their space off much above the fold, however, I had a feeling I would like the space or at least the people that run it based off the feel I got from their site. By the way, above the fold means above where the bottom of your screen shows. Basically, what is seen when a website is launched before scrolling.

Although it was across town from where I was staying, I really wanted to see it. My walk there let me go by the Cologne Cathedral which is always beautiful.

Soon after I reached out to the space, Eric said they would be happy to have me for the day.

    I was excited!

The day I arrived, it took me a moment to find the place, however, I just loved how it was off the beaten path but still close to many things.

Tucked away from the busyness of the Cologne Cathedral area.

Such a comfortable vibe even before I entered the space. Being from South Carolina in the United States, I do appreciate some front porch sitting!

Once you enter the space, you walk by the conference rooms and enter the main kitchen, coffee, and gathering area. They even made me a coffee from that impressive albeit intimidating espresso maker.

I chatted with the owners for a good while before I got to work. I knew I would get along with them! After catching up about all types of things, I was shown to the open coworking area and got to work.

I took my pictures a bit later in the day after many people were gone, however, it was quite busy all day and I was able to meet almost everyone. I was even invited to hang out later on that night and really had a wonderful time getting to know the coworkers.

This coworking space was on the smaller side but had such a great community of people and a really comfortable vibe. I will definitely be back and say hello again!

In the meantime, check out the rest of the spaces I worked out of on Cowork22’s European Journey of 2017 as a digital nomad building a business while traveling and working in coworking spaces.

Where should I go next? What questions do you want me to answer to help you on your journey?
