Before starting this article, be sure to read about my preparation for working as a digital nomad in Europe.
What was going to be different from my US and Canada tour? What was going to be the same? Who was I going to meet? How would the language differences affect my experience? Could I grow a business while living and working in these different cities?
These were just a few of the many questions I had about my upcoming trip.
In September of 2017, I left Tampa, Florida, on a two month journey throughout Scotland, Spain, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, and Portugal working remotely as a digital nomad in coworking spaces each week.
Where did I go?
Spaces Charing Cross – Glasgow, Scotland
The Cowshed (Hostel) – Uig, Isle of Skye, Scotland
The Melting Pot – Edinburgh, Scotland
Talent Garden, Barcelona, Spain
The Thinking Hut, Amsterdam, Netherlands
Central Library – Den Haag, Netherlands
Tribes The Hague Central Station – Den Haag, Netherlands
CoWork-Lab – Köln, Germany
Errant Coworking Space – Granada, Spain
Home Lisbon Hostel (Coworking Space) – Lisboa, Portugal
I flew back to Miami just in time to travel to Tampa and then Alabama for Thanksgiving with family.
This fall was full of wonderful experiences, new people, reconnecting with friends, and even some challenges. I will share as much as I can about what life is like as a digital nomad working in these different cities and coworking spaces.
